Video and collaboration proxy for Linux
By Nikolai Manek on 5/10/2007 10:46 PM

There was some confusion over how to use the REMWAVE light phone for video conferencing and screen sharing. One has to use the complete REMWAVE setup or a public video server like nikotels. Since today we offer a complete Linux video and collaboration proxy for download. In order to test the phone you need:

Asterisk or SIP enabled PBX like sipx or SER with other gateways (SIP!!! Not IAX - not yet;-))
REMWAVEs video and collaboration proxy
XMPP server like wildfire, jabberd or a public one like nikotels

Asterisk just got screen sharing and video conferencing
By Nikolai Manek on 5/9/2007 6:32 PM

These were the words one of our customers mailed me. At first I did not realized what he was talking about, given the fact that our REMWAVE communicator (soft phone) is designed to be integrated into the REMWAVE infrastructure. But yet of course it works with the built in SIP capabilities of Asterisk, the very successful open source phone system for SMBs. A lot of people have just done the latter. To make it even easier for you we decided to offer ...

The best soft phone is getting better – and it’s still FREE

A while ago we introduced a new soft phone (after having released lots of soft phone for our customers in the past( like buddyphone, Nikotel, mac2phone, win2phone and others). We very fast renamed it to “communicator” since “phone” does not really even scratch the surface of what this software has to offer. So why do I and fortunately our customers think it’s so great?
The REMWAVE communicator offers phone calls from your PC to regular phones, it offers free calling to other PCs and up to 4 people in a conference. It has the by far best phone book features in the market (check it out!) and the navigation t ...

A VoIP company in one week?
By Nikolai Manek on 5/5/2007 10:00 AM

This week has been very busy. While we were working on some incredible features which we will introduce in our communicator pretty soon we brought a new voice over IP company up and running. The CEO contacted us less than two weeks ago after he had experienced a very common path of how people approach the set up a VoIP business. You download Asterisk (this really cool business PBX) and maybe SER or openSER. This gives you two pretty nice pieces of infrastructure. So and what is next? You need of course a website to have customers sign up and to give them the possibility to see their online itemized bills or provision new phones etc. Since he wanted to serve retail customers a prepaid functionality was plann ...
